I have a lot of great ideas for improving my home, but my budget doesn’t always match my plans. I actually shopped around at a couple different places but ended up buying my copper mesh from a site specializing in pest control. My mesh arrived about three days later and I saved a ton of money!

I didn’t think about it much at the time, but I slowly found myself searching the web for almost every sort of home improvement supply I found myself needing. Last year I saved myself about $30 by purchasing some furnace air filters from Amazon.com instead of buying them at my local big box hardware store.

Another advantage to shopping online for home improvement supplies and tools is all the reviews that are available at your fingertips. You can really spend the day reading up on reviews and getting all the vital information needed by dozens if not hundreds of home improvement experts and professional handymen and women and then go to the store that night and pick up whatever you need. And don’t think that someone else isn’t writing about what you’re looking for. It’s a big world and there are lots of people buying tools and trying to improve their homes. From discussions about what deck nails to use to table saw reviews to comments about every brand of paint available, the online community of home improvement people is vast!

In fact, Amazon has a ton great home stuff that easily rivals the selection in a large hardware store. They have just about every tool imaginable, they have a large lawn and garden section and they have an amazing amount of interior accent and lighting pieces. They even have a home improvement outlet with all sorts of deals where you can get a lot of tools and equipment for a steal! Some of the items are reconditioned, some are just older models, but they’re all much cheaper than you’ll find for retail. A lot of the clearance items are even eligible for free shipping!
