Enter for a chance to win a patio makeover from Oldcastle’s Ugliest Patio Contest!

Oldcastle, Inc., the company famous for making quality pavers, outdoor stone and other building materials, is sponsoring an “Ugliest Patio Contest” with the chance to win a complete patio makeover!

All you have to do is head over to the OldCastle Ugliest Patio Contest website and fill out the entry form which allows you submit up to three photos and write a short message about why you deserve to have your patio made over! The site has all the official rules and entry information, but you’ll want to do it soon because the deadline is the end of August 2007! The winner is going to be announced on September 12, 2007, so you won’t have to wait long to know if you won.

I just submitted my ugly patio photos today, but I can see that I have some stiff competition. See, the Ugliest Patio Contest website is actually kind of fun to surf around because they show you some of the photos of entries they’ve already received! You can see that there are really some ugly patios and backyards in this country.

John Kemp, Oldcastle’s Vice President for Marketing describes why they decided to run the contest:

“The Ugliest Patio Contest is a way for us to beautify communities and help patio owners improve the value of their homes,” said John Kemp, vice president of marketing for Oldcastle Architectural. “Entrants have described hazardous walkways and patios that even children won’t play on, and we look forward to creating outdoor living spaces that will be true retreats for the family.”

And even if you don’t think you’ll win, the site even has some pavers and other stone products you can check out if you’re hoping to redo your patio on your own or have someone else do it for you.
