The online version of Consumer Reports magazine reports that this July 4th weekend might be a good time to start some of those home improvement projects you’ve been putting off for so long. It reports that the two largest home improvement store chains, Lowes and Home Depot, are both offering sales on appliances, paint, home improvement financing and lots of other items in their stores. I was browsing through the bookstore the other day and picked up a unique magazine called “ReadyMade.” It’s a magazine devoted to making all sorts of useful and decorative items for your home using discarded and unused items that were probably originally made for something else entirely. But it’s not some stodgy old magazine showing you how to make benches out of old fruit crates.
