All Things Cool in Tools - Toolmonger.com

Toolmonger is “All Tools. All the Time.”
Billing itself as the “web’s first tool blog” the name Toolmonger pretty much sums up everything about this site. It’s a regularly updated blog all about tools, shop items, hardware store finds, new home improvement and construction tools, home products and just about everything else that could possibly be interesting to a guy (or gal) who’s really into tools.
There’s a ton to see here and even though I visit it pretty regularly I still find things that I didn’t notice before. First and foremost is the blog portion which is updated multiple times a day so you can check back three or four times and often seen new stuff. Man, I wish I had that kind of time.
They’ve got the entries broken down into about a hundred different categories, but the really nice thing is they also break down their entries by tool type and even manufacturer. I sometimes just surf the categories there and my favorites for entertainment are definitely the “Cheap Ass Tools” and “Wacky Tools” sections. The great part about Toolmonger is that they are fairly honest when it comes to testing and trying out new tools. They’ll tell you if what they’re testing has problems or issues that might prevent you from buying it.
Toolmonger is much more than just a website about neat and unique tools. They’ve started a regular podcast, they have a ton of expanded how-to guides and posts, and a “One Beer” Projects section which goes through the steps of a simple how-to that can be completed in the time it takes to drink just one beer. Of course, for quality purposes you might want to test that claim for yourself.
And what if you’re the fan of a particularly unique or new tool? Then you can tell Toolmonger about it with their Submit A Tool button, of course!
